Cost is $70 per dog-hander team
This event is at a working board and train horse facility. Horses will be near the searches. It is great practice for events held at fairgrounds and equestrian facilities. The terrain is rough and uneven, mostly dirt with some hilly areas. You will walk to all searches. Dogs must be on Birch, Anise, and Clove but all levels will be accommodated. We plan 3-4 instructors who will set hides and judge. Currently Barbara Schwerdt, Julie Riekes, and Diane Baley are judging. Coaching during your search and light follow up commentary will be available from the instructors if desired.
Search elements planned for this event, subject to change are; Exterior, Vehicles, Interior horse barn with the empty stalls, Containers, AKC style Buried Water search, and a Self-Serve known blank interior. 6 searches.
We plan for each dog to work alone and out of sight of other dogs. We will follow protocols allowing dog-reactive dogs to be comfortable and ask that dogs be kept 8 feet apart with no dog-dog interaction in the parking lot or search areas. Bitches in heat must wear panties, and if possible, we would like to run you late in the day.
This event is mostly outside and will happen in all weather.
When you sign up you will be assigned a 20 minute working time slot. You may choose to have your time slot in the morning or the afternoon. We will be assigning times for efficiency. We ask that you arrive 5-10 minutes before your time slot and leave when you complete your searches as parking is limited. You may bring spectators, you may video your searches or someone can do it for you.
Cancellation Policy: All but a $10 processing fee will be refunded if cancellation is received by noon on Monday, January 6th 2025. No refunds after noon on January 6th.
